Manchester Fertility is the main asset. It holds 5,233 of the group's 8,520 top 10 rankings, with DR 39 against 5 to 10 for the others.

−16.5%

Egg Donors UK has lost ground since spring. 1,573 top 10 rankings now vs a 1,884 Mar to May 2026 average. The only site with a clear drop.

+37%

BuySperm and Egg Donors UK are growing. Top 10 rankings up on last year: BuySperm 480 vs 351, Egg Donors UK 1,573 vs 1,159.

7,384

The TFP group is the most-mentioned fertility provider in AI answers. TFP plus the five acquired brands across TFP's tracked prompts, last 30 days. Only the HFEA is mentioned more (12,588); Care Fertility has 4,510.

DR 5–10

Four sites have very low authority. Hundreds of referring domains each, but mostly nofollow. They rank on tight niche focus and exact-match domains, not link strength.

2 sites

Semovo and BuySperm compete with each other for the same sperm bank and sperm donor searches, with donor recruitment and recipient intent mixed across both.

Domain Rating

Referring domains: followed vs nofollow

Essential Fertility (72 of 307) and BuySperm (119 of 697) have under a quarter of their referring domains passing followed links. That pattern usually means directory, forum or low-value links. A link profile review is needed before any redirects or consolidation, so we do not carry weak links into tfp-fertility.com.

AI search visibility

From TFP's SE Visible project: 215 fertility prompts checked daily across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews in the UK. Last 30 days (29 Sep to 28 Oct) vs the 30 days before. Manchester Fertility is a tracked competitor; the other four are picked up from the answers.

Sample prompt positions

PromptTFP group bestTFPManchester FertilityEssential FertilityEgg Donors UKSemovo
  • TFP leads when people ask who the main providers are. For "What are the largest providers of IVF treatment in the UK?", TFP is named in 105 answers at an average position of 3.1, and it averages 3.4 for the same question about fertility treatment (101 answers).
  • TFP is near the top for testing. Average position 2.2 for "fertility assessment" (46 answers) and 3 for AMH testing prompts.
  • On cost, the group covers both angles. TFP averages 2.8 for sperm freezing costs and 3.6 for reciprocal IVF costs, while Essential Fertility leads on affordable IVF (position 3.1, 61 answers).
  • On donation, the acquired brands do the work. Semovo and Egg Donors UK lead the core donor prompts at positions 3 to 4, and TFP and Manchester Fertility share position 3.8 for "ivf with donor eggs over 40 uk".
  • Room to grow: on broad prompts such as "top fertility clinics uk", the group currently shows up through Manchester Fertility (position 6.2, 81 answers) more than through TFP (9.6, 14 answers). Linking the brands helps TFP benefit from that.

"reciprocal ivf cost uk" was added to the project on 14 October, so it has around half the checks of the other prompts. This is a sample of 16 of the 215 tracked prompts, chosen to cover each topic.

What this tells us

  • Together, the group is the most-mentioned fertility provider in AI answers: 7,384 mentions in 30 days, up 5.1% (7,384 vs 7,024). Only the HFEA (12,588) is mentioned more, and the group is well ahead of Care Fertility (4,510) and Create Fertility (3,245).
  • Manchester Fertility brings the largest share of that presence: 3,785 mentions, up 11.1% (3,785 vs 3,407), alongside TFP's 2,441 (2,441 vs 2,528). It ranks 6th of all brands in the prompt set and TFP 8th.
  • Essential Fertility and Semovo are rising. Essential Fertility mentions up 58.9% (402 vs 253), moving from 74th to 50th. Semovo up 8.3% (406 vs 375), from 71st to 46th.
  • Egg Donors UK is falling, down 23.7% (318 vs 417), which matches its ranking drop in organic search.
  • BuySperm is barely visible: 32 mentions across its three name variants (44 the month before). AI answers tend to fold it into Semovo, with labels such as "Semovo / BuySperm".
  • AI tools already see the acquired sites as one family. Answers use labels like "Manchester Fertility (Semovo Donor Programme)" and "Egg Donors UK (Manchester Fertility)". Few answers connect them to TFP yet (4 mentions in two months), so making the TFP link explicit on each site is a clear opportunity to bring this presence under the TFP name.
  • HFEA (visibility 41) and the NHS (17) lead the whole prompt set. Among commercial providers, Care Fertility (11) and Create Fertility (8) are the main competitors.

The prompt set was built mainly for TFP's clinic, IVF, cost and egg freezing topics. It includes a small number of general donor prompts (such as "sperm bank" and "donate eggs") but none about buying donor sperm, so Semovo, Egg Donors UK and BuySperm are only partly measured here. Mentions are counted across daily checks, so they show relative presence, not unique answers.

Ahrefs also shows Manchester Fertility's /prices/ page at position 1 for "how much is ivf uk" (2,800 searches) and position 4 for "how much is ivf" (2,400). Those are the cost terms TFP's /en-gb/prices work is targeting, so the two pages now compete for the same answer slot. Essential Fertility also sits at position 10 for "fertility clinic manchester", alongside Manchester Fertility at 2.

Recommended next steps

  1. Get Search Console access for all five properties. This comparison has no traffic figures because the third-party estimates are not reliable. We need real clicks, the spring baseline and query data before any decision on redirects or merging. Client
  2. Do not redirect or merge anything yet. The small sites rank at position 1 for their core niche terms with DR 5 to 10, largely because they are focused and exact-match. Folding them in could lose those positions. The decision should come from GSC data and a per-site value case. Fibre
  3. Split the sperm cluster by intent across the group. Semovo for donor recruitment, BuySperm for recipients buying sperm, TFP for treatment. This matches the existing recommendation to separate donor recruitment from recipient intent, and removes the Semovo blog pages competing for "sperm donor uk" and "sperm banks uk". Fibre
  4. Agree how Manchester Fertility and TFP's cost pages work together. Manchester's /prices/ page currently outranks TFP for national IVF cost terms. Either point it at TFP's national price guide or position it clearly as the Manchester clinic price list, so the two stop competing. Fibre
  5. Review the link profiles of Essential Fertility and BuySperm. Check what the nofollow and low-value domains are before any future redirect, so weak links are not passed to tfp-fertility.com. Fibre
  6. Add the five domains to SE Ranking rank tracking. Track each site's core terms so changes after the acquisition are measured from a known starting point. Fibre
  7. Expand the donor prompts in SE Visible. Add a dedicated donor topic covering egg donation, sperm donation and buying donor sperm, and track Essential Fertility, Egg Donors UK, Semovo and BuySperm as named brands (with their name variants), so the smaller sites are measured properly. Fibre
  8. Decide how AI should describe the group. AI answers currently link the acquired brands to Manchester Fertility rather than TFP. Agree the brand relationship TFP wants, then reflect it consistently in about pages, schema (parent organisation) and footers across all six sites. Client
